Now Open!!! Iron Triangle Rail Park
After more than 10 years of planning, plotting and funding, we finally broke ground on the Fostoria Iron Triangle Rail Park in September 2011. The park will be located at Columbus Avenue and Poplar Street, a popular “Iron Triangle” of railroads for train viewing that draws rail fans and photographers from literally all over the world! Features will include a covered viewing pavilion, lighting, Wi-Fi capability and heated restrooms. The parking lot will accommodate 32 cars and five buses/RVs. Fences will surround the perimeter for security and unobstructed viewing, and pedestrian paths will provide varying angles for viewing and photography.
The City took ownership of the property in September 2012, and opened bids on February 7, 2013. Construction is due to complete by the end of October 2013, with a Grand Opening scheduled for shortly thereafter. For more Rail Park information contact the Fostoria Rail Preservation Society (Facebook) or call 419-435-1781. Email Ellen Gatrell at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the Rail Park emailing list for all the latest info, updates and photos!
