The Clerk’s Office can:

  • Help you understand how court works
  • Answer questions about court procedures
  • Help you find information about your case
  • Answer questions about monies owed to the court
  • Direct you to other agencies who can provide assistance
  • Direct you to where you have to appear in court


The Clerk’s office cannot:

  • Give you legal advice
  • Fill out forms for you
  • Tell you what to say or write
  • Recommend lawyers or bonding agents
  • Reschedule for the Judges’ office


What if I have a hearing to contest or mitigate my ticket?
All appearances for traffic and criminal arraignments will continue as scheduled at both the Seneca County Justice Center and the Fostoria City Building.  The Court asks that only the defendant and essential personnel appear (counsel) for these proceedings.

What if I have a hearing for a criminal case?
Individual requests for continuances will be reviewed on a case by case basis.  Feel free to contact the Court with any questions.  Also, faxed requests for continuances will continue to be accepted.

If you are the defendant in a case and are represented by an attorney, contact your attorney as soon as possible to reschedule your hearing. Your attorney will contact the court.

Attorneys: If you or your client need to reschedule your hearing, contact opposing counsel and the court to request a continuance. Such requests may be faxed to either location for processing.  

What if I need to pay a ticket or fine?
You can pay tickets in person, online at www.tiffinfostoriamunicipalcourt.org, or by mail. 

I have outstanding fines and costs with the court and appear each month on the first Tuesday/first Friday.  ​Do I have to appear for April?
The monthly fines and costs hearings for the month of April are cancelled for both Tiffin and Fostoria locations. Individuals reporting to the Tiffin location the first Friday of each month will report on May 1, 2020 at 9:00 am or 1:30 pm. Individuals reporting to the Fostoria location on the first Tuesday of each month will report on May 5, 2020 at 9:00 am or 1:30 pm.

What if I need to report for probation?
Probation visits will continue as scheduled.  Those reporting to the probation department are asked NOT to bring any other individuals for said visit.  Please report on your regular schedule until contacted with more information.

The Fostoria Municipal Court, located at 213 S. Main St. on the second floor of the Municipal Building, serves the City of Fostoria, Jackson and Loudon Townships in Seneca County, Arcadia and Washington Townships in Hancock County, and Perry Township in Wood County.
