NOTICE TO BIDDERS
City of Fostoria, Ohio Sealed bids for supplying various Chemicals for Water and Wastewater Treatment will be received by the City Offices, 213 South Main Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830, until 3:00p.m. (local time) on Friday, December 20, 2019 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
This bid consists of: Item 1 – Liquid Linear Phosphate, Item 2 – Chemical Pebble Lime, Item 3 – Liquid Alum, Item4 – Chlorine Cylinders, Item5 – Powdered Activated Carbon, Item6 – Potassium Permanganate, Item 7 – Fluorosilicic Acid, Item 8 – Carbon Dioxide, Item 9 – Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate, Item 10 – Ferric Chloride
Copies of the specifications and contract documents may be obtained or examined at the office of the Safety-Service Director at 213 South Main Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please email requests for the documents to firstname.lastname@example.org and a pdf copy will be emailed to you.
Questions or comments pertaining to this bid must be presented in writing, e-mail (email@example.com) or fax (419-435-2354) to the attention of Rob Shaver, Water Treatment Plant Operator. No request for clarification/information will be accepted after three (3) days before the date on which bids are due. Proposals must be submitted on the form furnished by the City and must contain the name of every person, firm or corporation interested therein. Bids shall be sealed and marked as “2019 Chemical Bid – City of Fostoria” with the Bidder’s Name and Address and mailed or delivered to the City of Fostoria, Safety Service Director’s Office, 213 South Main Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830. Bids made out in pencil will not be accepted.
Bidders are required to file with their bid a Guaranty Bond in the full amount of the bid or a certified check, a cashier's check or a letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305 of the Ohio Revised Code in the amount of 10% of the bid.
The proposal bond or certified check submitted with the bid will be held as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into. Proposal bonds and certified checks will be returned to all Bidders after the contract has been entered into and secured by a performance bond of 100% of the contract with a satisfactory surety for the faithful performance of the work.
The successful Bidder will be required to execute an affidavit relative to delinquent personal property taxes pursuant to the provisions of Section 5719.042 of the Ohio Revised Code prior to entering into a contract with the City.
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the bid opening.
The City of Fostoria, Ohio intends to accept the lowest responsible bid for the project but reserves the right to reject any and all, or parts of any or all bids and to waive any minor informalities in any bid, or to make the award in the best interest of the City.
