Members of the public are encouraged to stay home if they are in a higher risk group or are feeling sick. Here is what to do if you have court business:
What if I have a hearing to contest or mitigate my ticket?
All appearances for traffic and criminal arraignments will continue as scheduled at both the Seneca County Justice Center and the Fostoria City Building. The Court asks that only the defendant and essential personnel appear (counsel) for these proceedings.
If you have questions, please contact the Tiffin location at (419) 448-5411 or the Fostoria location at (419) 435-8139 during business hours.
What if I have a hearing for a criminal case?
Individual requests for continuances will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Feel free to contact the Court with any questions. Also, faxed requests for continuances will continue to be accepted.
If you are the defendant in a case and are represented by an attorney, contact your attorney as soon as possible to reschedule your hearing. Your attorney will contact the court.
Attorneys: If you or your client need to reschedule your hearing, contact opposing counsel and the court to request a continuance. Such requests may be faxed to either location for processing.
What if I have jury duty?
Jury trials are suspended through April 20, 2020. Jurors do not need to report for service during this time period. Jurors summoned for jury duty during this time will be contacted to reschedule.
What if I need to pay a ticket or fine?
You can pay tickets in person, online at www.tiffinfostoriamunicipalcourt.org, or by mail.
I have outstanding fines and costs with the court and appear each month on the first Tuesday/first Friday. Do I have to appear for April?
The monthly fines and costs hearings for the month of April are cancelled for both Tiffin and Fostoria locations. Individuals reporting to the Tiffin location the first Friday of each month will report on May 1, 2020 at 9:00 am or 1:30 pm.
